OUR DOCTORS

SASI K. MANNEM, D.D.S.

Dr. Mannem has been an Austin Dentist since graduating from The University of Texas, Health Science Center, San Antonio in 1998.  She has continued her post graduate education in several courses ranging from CEREC, Invisalign, ZOOM Teeth Whitening, Implant restorations and stays abreast of new techniques that will elevate patient's comfort while receiving dental treatment. Dr. Mannem also is certified for conscious oral sedation so that she can provide comfort to the patients who have dental phobia.

Her emphasis on patient comfort, as well as, continuing her education with the latest dental advancements enable Dr. Mannem to provide her patients with the best quality care. Her vast knowledge in cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, root canal treatment, and Mercury-FREE restorations, makes her the right choice for you and your entire family. 

Her approach to your treatment starts with providing comfort and patiently listening to you and gaining your trust.  Then, together you will discuss the best course of treatment for you and your expectations; the beginning of developing a long lasting dental relationship.

Dr. Mannem has been married for twenty years and she has two kids.  In her leisure time, she loves to read, work out and do meditation.

ANN THOMPSON, D.M.D

Dr. Ann Thompson grew up in Houston, TX.  She obtained her B.A. degree in Biology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and worked for four years in Colorado as a research scientist in both the biotech industry and academia prior to obtaining her doctorate degree in dental medicine.

Dr. Thompson graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, and was awarded Highest Academic Achievement Award and membership in the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society.  Before joining the Mannem dentistry team, Dr. Thompson practiced dentistry in Round Rock, TX, and is now happy to serve the patients of her home town of Austin.

Dr. Thompson enjoys getting to know her patients and strives to pay careful attention to her patients’ dental concerns.  She appreciates all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in cosmetic and prosthodontic dentistry.  Dr. Thompson obtains well above the yearly board requirement in continuing education and is enthusiastic about incorporating the latest technology, such as implant restoration, laser dentistry, digital x-rays, and Invisalign into her dental practice to better serve her patients. Dr. Thompson has dedicated herself to promoting oral health and preventative dentistry in the surrounding communities, and has volunteered her dental services both locally and abroad in Haiti.   She enjoys traveling, music, and outdoor activities such as snow skiing, boating, and tennis, but most of all spending time with her husband of 5 years, Darin.

OUR HYGIENISTS

Lidia A. Garza, RDH         

Lidia brings over six years of dental hygiene experience to our office. She is dedicated to staying current in the ever evolving field of dentistry and has a passion for sharing that with her patients. Lidia has received her certification in Periodontal Hygiene Laser Therapy. In 2004, she earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from Texas State Technical College. She has over nine years experience in the dental field. In addition to serving as the president of the Student Dental Hygiene Association for two years, Lidia has received numerous awards for her volunteer and charity work, Academic Achievement Awards, the Procter & Gamble 'Preventive Dentistry Award' and the 'Theo's Hero Award' from St. David’s Mobile Dentistry. Lidia remains an active member in community volunteer work and school Career Day events. She enjoys traveling, being with family, and loves her side-kick Chihuahua named BlueBerry.  “I look forward to seeing your bright smile soon.”- Lidia

Crystal Durham, RDH

Crystal earned her degree in dental hygiene in 2004 from Taft College and currently holds an active hygiene license in Texas and California. Crystal is also certified in Periodontal Hygiene Laser Therapy. Her favorite part of working in the dental field is helping patients improve their dental and overall health, being able to personalize treatment, and enjoys the motivation from patients where together have achieved great results. She had such great experiences visiting her childhood orthodontist/dentist that it inspired her to become a dental hygienist. Crystal loves to be around water, good barbeques, the outdoors, and the company of her family and friends.

Patient Coordinators:

Ashley Stokes

Ashley has three years of patient coordinating experience. She has a warming smile that makes patients feel at ease and her attention to detail is comforting to patients.  She holds certifications as a Medical Assistant from Austin Community College and brings her knowledge and patient care to our office. Ashley finds satisfaction in helping others achieve their dental health goals. 

Brooke Boissenet 

Brooke is originally from Indiana where she attended Purdue University in 1994, by 1996 obtained her Associates Degree as an expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). She maintained her licensed certification living in Colorado. Now she has joined our Great State of Texas. She has over 15 years of experience in dental assisting, insurance verification, hygiene coordinating, clerical duties,and importantly patient care. Her knowledge gained from working side by side with the Dentist and team allows her to easily coordinate patient care and explore patient options that best suit their needs. She takes pride in understanding the patient's needs and making sure their questions, concerns are fully answered; so that the patient is confident of their treatment. Brooke enjoys playing outside and culinary adventures. 

Dental Assistants:

Michelle Acosta, RDA

We are happy to have Michelle as part of our practice. She brings over three years of dental assisting experience to our office. In 2007, Michelle graduated from Allied Health Careers. She received honors for graduating with a 4.0 gpa, loves spending time with her three children and grand baby, swimming, and reading. She stays abreast of all state-of-the art techniques and equipment by attending annual continuing education courses to improve her skills. David Peters, RDA

David brings over 14 years of skilled knowledge and experience to our dental practice. He is a proud member of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Hospital Corpsman, where he is able to  provide medical and dental treatment for our Armed Service Members.  He decided to move to Austin, Texas in 2000 from San Diego, California to continue making a difference in patients’ dental health and smiles. David has a beautiful Fiancée, a daughter Abby, a handsome son Cameron and is very excited to announce a new addition to his family come June 2012. During his free time  David enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, and playing games on his Xbox 360.
